Recording of B Minor Mass

We have received from Colin Mackay two CDs of the recent B Minor Mass concert. Neil has reviewed it and believes it is well worth copying so as to make it available to interested choir members (and adding at least an extract to the website).
Before I arrange for copying, I need to have an indication of how many people would like to buy a copy (likely to cost no more than £10). I will have a list which you can sign at next weeks rehearsal (22 June); if you are unable to be there, e mail me directly.

Photographs
We also commissioned a photographer (Tony Marsh-www.tonymarshphotography.com) to take pictures of that centenary concert. We will be choosing two or three of the best for the website. If you would like to see all his pictures (all 84 of them!!) here is the link-: http://photocart.ots-internet.net/photocart/index.php .
The access code is - bach. You can download any you want, although there is a charge for that.

Flyers and Tickets for Fringe Concert,August 2010

In case you were unable to attend last night's rehearsal can I advise that Lorna has created yet another beautiful poster and flyer for the fringe concert. Copies of the poster, and bundles of flyers will be available next week at the rehearsal.
Although it is some time before the concert, next week is the last rehearsal before August, and we decided it was important to get these to you before the break.
If you are one of those who distribute flyers to libraries, please note that we discovered that one library (Newington) was routinely using these as scrap paper, BEFORE a concert had happened! Naturally, our protests were loud and long!. If possible, please could you check to see if flyers are indeed displayed in those places that you leave them.
We think that distributing flyers to central hotels in tthe week before the concert does have an impact so thanks to those who did this before the B minor Mass- and please can you do it again!

Tickets
Margaret Grant has also created the ticket envelopes which enable you to try to sell four tickets. These too will be available again next tuesday.
Please do your very best to shift as many tickets as you can. As ever, it is likely that the majority
of tickets will be sold by choir members. Selling tickets for a Fringe event is always going to be a big challenge. The concert is still some time away- but no doubt many of your friends and family will already be studying the festival and fringe programmes so it is never too soon to tell them about this lovely concert.
Lovely it will certainly be given the choice of music. So it will be dispiriting if we can't get a decent crowd. Equally important, we need to make a profit on this concert if we are to manage the inevitable loss that we will incur when performing the St Matthew Passion next spring. So your efforts to sell are doubly important!
Thanks for your help,as ever.

To all choir members who are rehearsing for the Fringe concert.

Please note that tomorrow's (15 June) rehearsal will be in the ROBERTSON ROOM (not the main hall) at Edinburgh Academy.

Next week ,22nd June, I hope we will be in the hall as normal. This will be the final rehearsal before our short summer break. We return to rehearsals on tuesday 10th August, IN ST CUTHBERTS.
